Every time we hedge the ball screen, their 4 slips to the rim. We're a hedge team and our posts aren't quick. What's the adjustment without abandoning the hedge?
Film: Spacing & Pick-and-Roll vs. 2-3 ZoneKeep the hedge but tag the slip from the weak-side low man. Show early, then make your hedger call the slip so the tagger leaves on the call, not on the cut. Drill it 2-on-2 with a tagger every day.
We had the same issue at the middle-school level. We switched to a soft show and it helped, but I like keeping the hedge with a tag if your guards can recover.
